Although recent research has unveiled several parameters that can affect one’s hearing status, there are two main factors that contribute to noise or music related hearing loss- the sound level (also known as the intensity) and how long on

An Audio Loop

Saturday, April 04, 2015

An audio (induction) loop is a wire loop (or thin loop pad) attached to an amplifier. It creates a magnetic field that broadcasts sound, in pure, undistorted form, directly to people who are within the loop and have a hearing aid containing a telecoil. Aliant Pioneer Volunteers donate their time to install “audio loops” to work with existing public address “PA” systems. These loops improve the sound quality for people who wear hearing aids. Aliant Pioneer Volunteer loops can be found in churches, meeting rooms, theatres and classrooms across Atlantic Canada. Hearing Aids are designed to work best in small spaces and at small distances. The FM audio loop can compensate for the noise and distance factors making it much easier for hearing aid users to hear in difficult environments.
